CURRENT BUSINESS PROFILE AND SKILLS:

Gordon is currently serving as C.E.O. and principal engineer of RGP Technologies Inc., of Carlsbad California/Port Richey Florida . Gordon’s current position involves the complete hardware and software design of large enterprise security video surveillance (MPEG4 digital video recorder) systems, that are fully web integrated, and managed over TCPIP. He has just completed all of the development work, so the product line is ready for market at this point. Gordon also is responsible for various contract-engineering projects for various other key developers of high technology.

Gordon was previously employed (2000-2004) for 3 ˝ years as the Director of Research Engineering for Verint/Loronix Video Solutions. (stock symbol VRNT) in Del Mar California. Gordon was the principal master architect engineer/designer of all the current manufactured video/audio recorders in the MOAB product family that use Texas Instruments TMS320C6711 and TMS320C6415 DSP chips. Gordon also has designed the Equator BSP-15 video processor into current products. Gordon conceptualizes the master design and does the entire design from schematic to board layout (Mentor Graphics Pinnacle Expedition design package), to glue logic design (Verilog), to testing. He then writes critical software device interface drivers to the hardware usually in "C".

Gordon has many years of both hardware design and software design to his credit. His software expertise ranges from assembly language to SQL. He also has been C.E.O. of a small company for over 15 years, and his work experience spans from being a lead R&D engineer for the world known NIELSEN MEDIA RESEARCH all the way to working for a mid size public traded company as Director of Research Engineering.

Gordon’s current passion is that of leading a company with cutting edge DSP video/audio applications forward through uncharted bleeding edge technology, and merging that with broad band network technology. His current leadership skills include managing an entire engineering research and development team from the top down.

Gordon is very outspoken, yet a good listener. Gordon is extremely creative, and resourceful, and knows how to be real "people person", and motivator! Gordon has incredible technology experience and is well educated on business risks from his insurance background. Gordon is a type "A" personality, and an active leader in technology, and personal pursuits.

His high level to low level capabilities are strong. He is proficient with Internet design / tools and web server CGI to SQL interface. ELECTRONIC HARDWARE DESIGN EXPERIENCE:


Gordon is very "hands on" experienced with full electronic schematic design to circuit board layout and manual/auto routing expertise, from prototyping to production using MENTOR EXPEDITION PINACLE, PROTEL 99 SE, PADS, CADENCE ALLEGRO, IVEX WINDRAFT - WINPCB, ORCAD SCHEMATIC CAPTURE & LAB VIEW.

Gordon is very versed with various HDL hardware design languages such as VERILOG, VHDL, RTL etc. He is experienced with various logic simulators and synthesizers from a number of FPGA – ASIC – PASIC industry leaders such as Lattice, Xilinx, Quick Logic, Altera. Gordon is very comfortable using state of the art, high-speed logic analyzers and scopes, debugging nasty timing issues, and race conditions.

Gordon has designed products using chips from: WIS, Motorola 6800-09 + 680X0, Intel 80XXX, Texas Instruments DSP C32 - C40 - C6711 - C6415, EQUATOR BSP 15, Ethernet phy chips, such as REALTEK, programmable Cypress clocks, C-CUBE CL560 JPEG, Lattice-Xilinx FPGA, Quick Logic PASIC’s, RF analog audio + video, digital, I2C, Microchip PIC micro-controllers, Parallax stamps, DTMF applications, Crystal audio codecs, Phillips video chips, voice recognition processors such as OKI MSM6679 and Sensory RSC164, UART & DUART implementations. SPI, INTELLON spread spectrum power line modem chips, Harris Prism ISM Band chips, Cypress high speed USB2.0 chips.

Gordon is responsible for developing and producing and marketing all products for the new products division of the start up company. Gordon also manages the contract engineering facets of the business for several key high technology partners.

9-1-2000 to 2-5-2004 - Verint/Loronix Information Systems, Inc. - Director of Research Engineering


Gordon was responsible for creating new cutting edge digital video/audio products for the leading security technology company, Verint/Loronix Information Systems, Inc.. Gordon was responsible for management of new Del Mar R&D facility hardware engineering operations. He reported directly to the CTO, Pete Jankowski. Gordon was the master architect and designer/engineer of all current MOAB video recorder products that utilize TI dsp’s (C6711 and C6415) and also the EQUATOR BSP15 video processing DSP. He was responsible for all hardware design facets including all glue logic code and testing.

 

7-1-97 to 8-31-2000 - Nielsen Media Research - Staff Lead Electrical Engineer


Gordon reported directly to Dr. Daozheng Lu, director of Research & Development in Engineering & Technology. Gordon was placed in charge of hardware & software design and development of VRU voice recognition system to be used by Nielsen to monitor and verify TV viewer presence in a room, along with video recognition system integration. His responsibility spanned from schematic design to board layout, including all assembly code development for final product application and production. Gordon was named to new PCTV group in 1998 for the design and development of new digital video and PCTV metering including the design of an internet based real time data collection system using a socket based virtual private network. Gordon was also responsible for designing and building a 1394 based HDTV metering system using both AV/C and IPV4.

In 1999, Gordon wrote the design reference API for Level One/Intel's LXP730 & SK70725 DSL/ADSL chip family for RGP Technologies Inc., under special contract.

Gordon also wrote a complete "E COMMERCE" STORE PACKAGE, for RGP Technologies Inc., that uses a browser based HTML/CGI user interface connected to a MYSQL database running on a FREEBSD 3.3/APACHE server. (see http://www.rgptech.com)

 

6-95 to 6-97 - Nielsen Media Research - Contract Senior Software/Hardware Engineer

Gordon was responsible for writing, testing and debugging software for the MMS board project. He performed intensive board level debugging and usage of Texas Instruments DSP digital signal processor and Tartan debugger. He also performed intensive usage of Solaris on Sun workstation and Microsoft C++ version 1.52. including intensive JPEG device driver engineering and debugging was required.


He was placed in charge of Vidcode project for the purpose of reverse engineering, debugging and deploying system at Turner Broadcasting, including writing device drivers for the Vidcode video encoder board in Borland C and Borland Pascal. He designed and laid out a DTMF to ASCII micro-controller board for satellite head end, local commercial insert detection.

Gordon also wrote the "C" and assembler test code for the AP project DSP board.


Gordon was placed in charge of hardware and software design of the "VOICE RECOGNITION UNIT" development for Dr. Daozheng Lu. This project required various VRP prototypes to be designed and tested. Gordon developed and designed an infrared transmitter and receiver system that converted recognized voices into infrared, and then decoded the infrared and converted the data to RS232C for a computer system interface.

 

 

1/80 to 12/96 - Century Computer Systems Inc. - C.E.O. and Principal Engineer


Gordon was responsible for the complete design and manufacture of a 12-user, UNIX clone MC6809 and MC68000 system including the writing and integrating of application software written in "C". using the UNIX V operating system. His day to day responsibilities included maintenance of code and customer support and all aspects of R&D relating to ongoing product enhancement.


He was responsible for and wrote the Blue Cross & Blue Shield 80 byte and National Standard format interface to the HCFA1500 on SCO UNIX including Z modem communications back to the Jacksonville, Florida office of BCBS of Florida, for a client named National Billing and Collections, Inc. of Clearwater, FL. This product is marketed under the name of "PROVIDER 95".


He was responsible for and wrote a complete reservation control system in "C" for the hotel and resort industry, using the UNIX V operating system. This product is marketed under the name "INNKEEPER 95".


Gordon was responsible for and wrote a complete insurance agency management system in "C", using the UNIX V operating system. The system integrates windows and DIGIFAX and laser image printing. He was responsible also for insurance company download in ACORD AL3 format. This product is marketed under the name "EQUALIZER 95".


His responsibilities included overlapping management of CIC from 1980 - 1984.
